*Carolina has moved from Brazil in 2002 and has been studying Flamenco since 1997, in Chicago studied with Wendy Clinard. Curently teaches flamenco with Patricia Alonso (flamenco singer) at Kelly High School and at Flamenco Arts Center Performs with the Guitars of Spain and collaborated with Alfonso Ponticelli and others artists.

Karen Stelling, a veteran of flamenco and Spanish Dance in the Chicago area for over 30 years is offering fundamental and intermediate levels of flamenco technique and choreography as well as castanet class.

Karen has over thirty years of Spanish Dance and flamenco performing and teaching experience and was the First Dancer of Chicago's Ensemble Espanol for ten years before working as a soloist and member of Los Tres, a flamenco trio. Karen has studied with many masters over the years and enjoys passing this knowledge and inspiration on to her students.

Melody Vasquez
Melody was formerly a principal dancer and soloist with the Los Preferidos Spanish Dance Company, and performs with her colleagues as "Las Compañeras". Her performing and teaching experience encompasses classical, folkloric and flamenco forms of Spanish Dance. Classes are continuous--students can start at anytime.**

(Flamenco Arts Center has a separate membership fee of $25. This annual membership fee gives members advance notice on FAC events and workshops, and discounts for FAC workshops, discount coupon for dancewear at a local store, and 10% off purchases at Flamenco Connection.)

(The Saturday 1:45 class offers study in castanet technique and movement for use in Andalucian dances such as Sevillanas or Fandangos de Huelva, and "clásico español" choreography.)

Individual class $15, or $85.00 for a seven (7) session class card (no refunds or extensions on prepaid cards)

Students have up to three months from day of purchase to use their cards. Class cards can be used toward any class given by Melody. Students may choose to take once a week or combine classes as desired.

Basic level classes are currently offered on Saturday afternoons. Inter/Advance students are welcome to attend weekly or any combination of both levels and/or days.

**Please note that Intermediate/Advanced classes require a minimum of 2 years study or approval of instructor.

New Flamenco Chicago studio is at 2147 W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago. Flamenco Chicago offers the most comprehensive schedule of flamenco dance classes in Chicago, with 13 weekly classes, encompassing four levels of training in technique and choreography. Most sessions run for six weeks, but students with previous experience in flamenco are encouraged to join mid-session, if they wish. All students have the opportunity to participate in two student showcases each year, held in a beautiful professional theatrical setting. Flamenco Chicago artistic director Rosetta Magdalen teaches all flamenco classes. Her work has been featured in the Chicago Tribune, Dance Teacher magazine, and other publications.
